Dixson
“Dixson” is a short film I wrote and Directed in the fall of 2023 in Rhode Island with long time collaborator Davey Wavey. In “Dixson” I wanted to capture a very real dynamic of the gay closeted world that is rarely, if ever brought to the screen. The spring/fall relationship between an unlikely duo faced with a shared secret.
As an homage to closeted relationships throughout history, I decided to capture this film on the Classic Angenieux 20-120mm T/3, an absolutely beautiful piece of vintage glass that has lensed some of the greatest films of the 70’s and 80’s. This, paired with our setting, nestles the characters into a world that transcends time or space. Creating a dream-like patchwork that gay men of all ages can connect with.
The film is currently in post production with a planned festival run in ‘23.
